Jack “Randy” Jobe aka Survivor Jack™ was born in Frederick, Oklahoma.

An only-child, his parents were Jack & Jackie Jobe.  “Randy”, as he was known in his youth, followed his family to Army Posts in Lawton, Oklahoma, Munich, Alabama, Hawaii, North Carolina and back to Oklahoma.

While attending Oklahoma University, I switched from Math Major to Speech: Radio-TV Broadcasting. I worked at KUVY in various capacities and had a show called “Datebook”.  I interviewed celebrities who came to our area.

My favorite interview was with Bruce Lee who came to Oklahoma City for a Cerebral Palsy Telethon. When Bruce took his :30 minute break from the phones and broadcast, he gave a ‘college kid’ about twenty minutes. He treated me like a long-lost brother sharing his Wisdom!

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, “Randy” became an Emmy-nominated Cinematographer at WKY-TV (Oklahoma City) later worked at KMGH & KWGN (CH7 & 2 Denver, CO). He won Photography, Sales and Public Service awards

In the early ’80s, Randy met Jacquie.  His co-workers at Ch2, my friends and neighbors started calling them – Jack and Jacquie – and it stuck.  He have two sons and a Daughter-in-Law.

15 Days after the 2010 Haiti Earthquake, while watching the rescue of the “Miracle Girl”, Jack had a VISION.  In a flash, he created a rescue tool and realized his Mission of promoting 1st Aid and Survival Basics through Entertaining Education. After appearing on National Geographic TV series “Doomsday Preppers” (S1E9), Jack picked up a nickname. At a trade show, Branding-expert, Gerry Foster, listened to his story and said, “You’re Survivor Jack”. By the next day, everyone was calling me Survivor Jack.

Jack is producing a set of videos to encourage people to be better prepared.               He continues to write articles and books.
